O.M.G.has projected this serie of heads to offer an adequate solution to customer exigencies, as modularity, flexibility, possibility to reuse the pieces on other projects, easy maintenance.
The following heads can reach big dimensions, transmit high powers, equip big units, special machines with automatic change of the heads, high performance production lines, and any other machine tool.
Technical featuresThe body is normally in extruded aluminium, but for particular exigencies, it is possible to have it in other materials. There are standard dimensions of round bodies in order to make easier the application of the designer, but there is the possibility to produce them with different shapes and dimensions.
The movement enters in the head from the central shaft, equipped by conical (ATC solution) or radial (standard solution) bearings at which end there is a central gear with straight shaved toothing; this transmit the movement to the conduit gears which rotate on bearings, reach the spindles which are essentially of four types: with DIN 6499 collet, DIN 55058 norm, precision, with lead screw.
In the first two there are selected rolling bearings, radial and axial ball bearings to prefer if the drilling jig is necessary or in case of threading, when the requested precision is not too high; besides they can have distributors for the passing of the cooling liquid through the tool, quick connection collar or with other types of tool connection (KOMET, WELDON, etc......).
The precision spindles rotate on bearings with precharged precision oblique contact and are used in the milling, remain, boring and drilling operations with hard metal drills.
The threading can be made with lead screw spindles if the machine is not with a controlled feed; this solution has high costs and longer dimensions.
The main characteristic of these spindles is that they are a detached part of the head; all components are assembled on a rectified case in steel and then assembled on the head. This technique permits more rolling precision, more assembling precision and simpler maintenance.
The lubrication of the head is normally with long-life grease and maintenance is not necessary for 2.000 hours. If the head has to rotate at high speed, this is arranged for a micro fog lubrication (the system can be supplied by O.M.G. or bought directly by the client).
The drilling heads which require the tool guide jig can have both fix and movable columns; the drilling jigs are equipped with bushes DIN 172 or DIN 173.It is possible to supply the piece arrester equipments, studied for the exigencies of the clients.
Before delivery, all our machines are dimensionally controlled on a machine type DEA JOTA 1202 in a controlled ambient at a temperature of about 20° and with a relative humidity of 50-60%.
